Two clock faces beside a measuring caliper

For readers comparing a recorded bet price with a recorded closing price. Both prices must refer to the same selection and settlement terms.

Examples are hypothetical. CU = currency units. Use one consistent currency wherever CU appears. No live prices or provider data are fetched.

Illustrative result using the displayed default inputs.

How to read the result

Positive odds-ratio CLV means the taken decimal odds were higher than the closing odds you entered. It does not prove positive expected value, remove margin, establish a fair closing price or predict the bet result.

Formula

  1. Price-based CLV = (taken odds / closing odds − 1) × 100.
  2. Taken implied probability = 100 / taken odds; closing implied probability = 100 / closing odds.
  3. Implied-probability change = closing implied probability − taken implied probability, in percentage points. No margin adjustment is performed.

Worked example

(2.20/2.00−1)×100 = +10.00% CLV; implied probabilities = 45.4545% and 50.00%; change = +4.5455 percentage points.
